A Recap of Summer

Since the beginning of September, I have been trying to get an update letter and pictures to Chloe's birthmom and grandmother. I finally worked on that this week. The hold up is that I rarely print pictures anymore since we can so easily enjoy them on the computer. So I did get get a file created of all the pitures that capture the summer. So I thought I would share them here with you. Some you have seen already in previous post. But they are worth repeating!

  • Chloe rode in the 4th of July Parade with her cousin Campbell in Bobby's Vette.
  • Chloe moved into her "big girl" bed.
  • Chloe put away her diapers. Above you will see Chloe and I holding her "Potty Chart." She got a sticker for her chart and a Skittle everytime she used the potty.
  • Chloe went to lots of baseball games to watch her brothers play ball. She had lots of Ring Pops and lots of multicolored tongues.
  • Chloe wore sweet girly dresses and posed by the "Sunday Dress Picture Taking Place" quite often.
  • Chloe saw the ocean for the first time. We went to Ft. Morgan, AL for Spring Break with the boys. Chloe traveled with Mommy and Daddy on a special business trip in May to Amelia Island, FL. In July we all spent a week at North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with Sheena and Carson, Sam and Donna and Grandmother and Gerald.
  • Chloe spent a lot of time on the lake with her boys too!

One Year Update!

Wow... it is hard to believe that it has been a year since our little Chloe came into our lives. She continues to brighten our days and nights! She is 2 1/2 years old now and has an amazing vocabulary.... she is using up to 7-8 words to form sentences. We feel so blessed. God has given us this precious little girl to love. Time sure has flown by... over the past year Chloe has traveled with us to 10 different states and she has learned to get anything and everything she wants from her Daddy :-). She has moved into a "big girl" bed and is almost "potty trained". Thank you to all those that helped us along this journey and God Bless.

Five Month Update

It's already hard to remember life without Chloe. She has just fallen right into her own special place in the family. She is adored beyond measure in this house. The adoption was finalized on December 14. After the papers were signed and we were all thanking the judge and shaking hands, Chloe reached her right hand out to the judge, shook the judges hand and said, "thank-you."

Chloe is putting 3-4 word phrases togehter. She tells everyone where to sit and when to sit. She reminds us all to "buckle" when we get in the car. She is very friendly. She tells everyone in Wal-Mart "hello." Chloe is CRAZY about ice cream and chocolate! She is very much into Elmo and VeggieTales right now. She is learning to have good manners and rarely ever forgets a "please" or "thank-you."

A few nights ago, Robert was putting her in bed. She reminded him that they needed to say prayers. So Robert prayed with her. Then Chloe said, "Thank You" and went right to sleep.

Chloe loves music and ipods. She has a cute little pink preschool MP3 player, but she wants the Apple ipod. Her favorite song is "Soulja Boy." It's a rap song that has been very popular recently with kids and teens. She sings, "oh, boy-Youuuuuuuuuu." That's funny for those of you that know the song.

Today Ryan and Kellan were fighting. Chloe started saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

Chloe will be 2 years-old on February 20! She can hold up 2 fingers and say, "two." Sometimes though she holds up 2 fingers and says, "peace."

She's a sweety and our best form of entertainment these days. She is close enough to perfect for us! We are tremendously blest and absolutely amazed that God lead us to find each other.

A Three Month Update

It is hard to believe that Chloe has been in our lives for three months already. She is simply a perfect fit for our family. She has developed a strong relationship with both of us and her brothers and just loves all the attention. She has a special place in her heart for her daddy... she just doesn't want to be away from him for very long.

We finally had the chance to travel to North Carolina for the Thanksgiving holiday for her to meet her Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts and all those Cousin boys. What a trip, she just warmed up to everyone. We love her dearly and feel so blessed. Everyone asks how she has transitioned.... well she has simply moved in to the Baker house and taken on the role of a princess...

One Month Update

Chloe is just doing wonderful! It's hard to believe that she has been with us for one month now! She is such a sweet girl and a blessing to us. She has really settled in and beginning to be the little princess we thought she would be. She really loves her brothers. We still can't take our eyes off of her... she is so cute. Her personality is one of fun, smiles, love and determination!

Update and Thank You

Chloe is such a blessing to us. We feel so touched by her. As new parents would be, we are just simply amazed by her. Her sweet smile and laughter lights us up every time. Her brothers are delighted to be around her and she is the same about them. She really enjoyed church this past Sunday. Well, of course she got a lot of attention... She is really transitioning extremely well, she goes to bed very easy at nap time and at night. She likes listening to the Lion King sound track when she lays down. She wakes up happy and smiles when we walk into her room.

We would like to thank all those who prayed for us and Chloe. We would also like to thank those who helped us in Mississippi during our trip to Wyoming. A special thanks goes out to the Robert and Brenda Benson for taking in two additional boys into their home (Kellan and Ryan). "We really owe you!" We would like to thank Dickie and Beverly Corder for their help and encouragement. We would also like to thank Leigh Lucas and Neddie Joye and Michael Tolleson for their help as well.

Robert would like to thank all those at American HealthTech for their support and encouragement and especially for the office decorations and gifts. You all make work fun!

Our first day at home

Chloe had a big day. She finally met her other two big brothers and the dogs! She explored every drawer, cabinet and closet downstairs. She is very curious and I'm sure she will begin exploring the upstairs tomorrow. She also had a chance to meet a few neighbors and friends. She seems to be transitioning extremely well. She is almost always smiling and laughing.
